The start of Timber and Thread

We are Scott and Vashie Miller and we are the creators behind Timber and Thread.

Scott is the creator behind "The Old Man's Workshop" and creates beautiful handcrafted items by woodworking. Vashie is the creator behind "For You Creations" loves to sew items. Since we generally sell both items at craft faires together, we wanted to bring both our businesses under one webpage where both businesses can be easily located.

Why the name Timber and Thread you may ask. Well for a few reasons.

The first reason: We wanted to combine what is used for each of our businesses. Woodworking ='s Timber. Sewing ="s Thread.

The second reason: Today, we were trying to come up with a name for our combined businesses. The other runner up was For You Workshops, which is a play on both of our business names. While we were running errands with our oldest son, Joey who is 18 years old, we ran both names by him. He immediately said, "Timber and Thread. It sounds more fun and not old!" We both may be older in age but we really are young at heart.

So that is how we came up with the name Timber and Thread!

A little bit about us. We have been married for 19 years and will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in October. Scott is a high school math teacher and Vashie is a stay at home mom. Fun side note, we met on eHarmony. Even though Vashie would visit Scott's school often while she was at work (before she became a stay at home mom), we never ran into each other. We have 3 amazing children. Joey (Joseph) is 18, Lucas is 17 and Bailey is 15. If our home wasn't already packed, we have 3 doggos, whose names are Sadie, Ivy and Tater Tot. Our entire family are active members of our church. Because our businesses are grounded in our faith, you will not see any vulgar words or images. We actually will not create custom items with either of those, so please do not request it.
